About Michael
Michael Cheape is a local acoustic guitarist and singer who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up on the North Shore of Oahu in Waialua where he cultivated his love for the ocean, sports and music. He first started playing the guitar as a camp counselor at Camp Mokuleia. From that point he was hooked and played music during his time at University of Hawaii to help and pay his way through college.
After college Michael married the love of his life Sharon and had two children Lauren and Matthew. He also began teaching at Nanakuli High School in special education and eventually became the digital media teacher where music production was a component of the curriculum. Through his years of teaching Michael continued to entertain on the side for weddings, birthdays, special events and in many restaurants.
Michael has spent many years playing guitar professionally and is very experienced with all types of events. He is the preferred vendor at many locations including Sunset Ranch and Kualoa Ranch. Michael is an artist who puts the clients needs firsts and goes above and beyond to provide the perfect music selection for the occasion and the guests.
